Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I call?

    Yes. We take phone calls from 8:30 to 5:00 every weekday (except for major holidays). Our phones are monitored for death notifications twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. All other after-hours calls will be returned during normal business hours.

  • How do I order death certificates?

  • How long will it be before I can pick up?

    Plan for 14 days AFTER the paperwork and payment have been completed. 

  • How long will you keep the cremains?

    After the cremation process is complete, all cremated remains are removed from the cremation chamber and cooled to room temperature. Once cooled, all metal fragments (metal casket parts and surgical implants) are removed through visual inspection and use of a strong magnet. The cremated remains are then reduced to smaller particles and placed in the selected urn.

  • Will you call me when cremation is scheduled and/or completed?

    Cremated remains resemble coarse sand and small gravel. They are typically whitish or light gray. An average size adult's cremated remains weigh roughly 5 to 8 pounds.

  • Will you call me when the urn or death certificates are ready to be ordered/picked up?

    When the urn is ready, you will receive an email with a link to our calendar to schedule your pickup appointment. Death certificates will be mailed directly from the health department to the address that was provided. You should expect to receive them within 2-3 weeks from when the death occurred. 

  • Can I drop by the office or the cremation center?

    The cremation center is available to be viewed by appointment only. Our administrative location hours are, for a variety of reasons, non-standard. Appointments are required. This allows us to dedicate uninterrupted time to your family and to others we are honored to serve.

  • Can I speed this process up?

    The cremation process is not fast because it requires multiple signatures and permits- which is what we do for you.

     

    ** This does not apply to those choosing an expedited cremation. Expedited cremations are typically completed within 7 business days.
